trucard ice silver Portabio - Ticks all the Right Boxes for Sustainable Packaging

trucard silver Portabio box

Building on the success of the trucard range, Scottish independent employee owned papermaker, Tullis Russell, has teamed up with API Laminates of Stockport, England to launch the revolutionary trucard ice silver Portabio, as recently showcased at the Luxepack exhibition in New York.

A smooth, high gloss metallised one side coated board, trucard ice silver Portabio is a combination of trucard ice and API's environmentally friendly metallised film. As the film is renewable, sustainable, recyclable and compostable, it ticks all the right boxes for manufacturers seeking board and packaging products with exceptional environmental credentials. It boasts FSC certification and is made from 100% elemental chlorine free (ECF) pulps, sourced from sustainably managed forests.

The full trucard range offers real choice for packaging converters and brandholders with gloss and matt one and two-sided coated versions (trucard 1 and 2 gloss and 1 and 2 matt), recently joined by uncoated options (trucard 0 matt, felt and felt extra) to respond to the growing increased interest in these more tactile surfaces and trucard ice itself which offers a bright white smooth and high gloss surface. The full trucard range is always FSC certified and 50% recycled FSC versions are available in selected items.

Malcolm Sinclair, Marketing Director at Tullis Russell, commented; “We are very excited about this joint venture with API Laminates and about introducing such a high quality and entirely novel product to the luxury packaging market. trucard ice silver Portabio will offer a truly alternative and environmentally friendly choice of metallised board to buyers and specifiers and will widen yet further the trucard range and its possibilities."
