Tullis Russell Papermakers branched out and went back to its roots recently at a “Weekend Of Wood” held in Dundee during the Easter weekend.
Tullis Russell were one of the main exhibitors at the ‘Weekend of Wood’, which took place at Dundee University Botanic Gardens. The company's marketing and product development teams gave visitors an insight into the time honoured techniques of papermaking, as well as the modern methods in use today.
Hundreds of people attended the weekend event, which saw Tullis Russell joined by a wide selection of exhibitors including tree surgeons, basket weavers and craft furniture makers. In addition, Tullis Russell ran a competition for a visitor to win a bottle of champagne and Ian McKintyre from Broughty Ferry was the lucky winner.
Derek Guthrie, marketing services manager for Tullis Russell commented,
“The weekend was a great success and visitors showed a very keen interest in all the exhibits. Our papermaking demonstration, which utilised some of our development equipment, was particularly successful and allowed children of all ages to roll up their sleeves and make their own paper.”
