TANK Takes The Double
The brochure won the categories 'Best Of Show' and best 'Creative Design & Print On Cover Board' in the 1999 Paper Focus Creative Awards.
Entitled ME.MO, the office furniture brochure was printed on Tullis Russell Papermakers’ first class uncoated paper stock, Mellotex Brilliant White, using 400 gsm mounted on E Flute board for the cover, and 250 gsm for the inside pages.
The brochure, which takes its name from a combination of the words ‘memo’ and ‘metamorphose’, was five months in the making and uses a creative use of clean white space plus an easy-to-read typeface, along with bold and striking photography to reflect Samuel Bruce’s own ethos of simplicity in terms of design, appearance and usage.
Stuart Gilmore, director of [TANK], explained: “The paper stock required for this particular job needed to be clean and sharp and be able to withstand some heavy print techniques. Mellotex was chosen as it met the criteria perfectly and there was little to no change in quality transferring the graphical images from cromalin to paper.
“The brochure was printed by using both litho and screen printing processes and over 4,000 brochures were printed and wire bound. We are extremely pleased and proud of this brochure.”
