No Square - Tullis Russell Inc.
Producing a ground breaking, innovative and creatively designed computer for tomorrow’s consumers calls for a promotional brochure that reflects these same attributes.
So when American design consultancy FreeAssociates, based in Santa Monica, California, was asked to produce a sales brochure for Aqcess Technologies Inc’s new state-of-the-art Qbe (pronounced cube) Personal Computing Tablet, the brochure had to be something different.
Produced using Tullis Russell Inc’s Trulux range of cover boards, the brochure has been creatively designed around the Cubism theme, reflecting the client’s goal of radically changing the way people view – and think about – personal computers.
By using a number of intricate die cuts, full colour photography and stock illustrations, the brochure clearly demonstrates all the outstanding properties of Trulux.
Trulux C2S 10 point was used for the brochure because the printer, Color Graphics, who had used Trulux in the past, knew how well it would perform and recommended it to FreeAssociates.
Josh Freeman, president and creative director of FreeAssociates, explained: “Our goal was to create a presentation that would be as unique as the Qbe is. We wanted it to work as two individual pieces – press kit and brochure – and as a complete seamless system, as well. The production of the brochure posed a few challenges at first to ensure the folds and the illustrations met accurately. The client is as delighted with the results as we are and we are exceptionally pleased at how well Trulux performed.”
Clive Gillanders, sales manager for Tullis Russell Inc, said: “This is one of the most imaginatively designed brochures I’ve ever seen and illustrates just how versatile Trulux is.
Trulux combines excellent bulk and stiffness with superior gloss, smoothness and printability, making it one of the most competitive covers on the market. Ink hold out and its exceptional clean, blue-white shade sets Trulux apart from the crowd of ordinary commodity covers.”
Trulux is ideal for gravure, lithography and screen printing processes as well as laminating, varnishing and hot foil laminating. All these print and finishing techniques are complemented by the high bulk and stiffness which has long been associated with Trulux.
Trulux is available in both gloss C1S and C2S, and in silk C2S, from 8 - 14 pt and in a wide variety of sizes. All pulps used in the production of Trulux are sourced from sustainable managed forests and are elemental chlorine free (ECF) and groundwood free.
