Calendar Celebrates Diversity
Titled ‘New Faces and Flavours’, the 2001 Calendar was printed on Tullis Russell Papermaker’s popular uncoated paper stock, Naturalis Smooth Arctic White 250gsm, supplied exclusively by Premier Paper.
This is the third calendar that ‘Trickett & Webb’ has designed for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and this year’s theme was to illustrate how the cultural mix of ethnic groups that live in Britain affect the food that we eat. Over 10,000 were distributed to 200 British Embassies and Consulates around the world to demonstrate the British way of life.
Katja Thielen, Senior Designer at Trickett & Webb explained: “Using 35 mm film to create a soft focus and documentary feel, for the calendar, we photographed people in restaurants, markets and delis, preparing and eating a wide variety of ethnic dishes.
“Naturalis has always stood out as one of our favourites, as it is very smooth, crisp, white and offers a high quality finish. The 10,000 calendars were printed using a litho printing process and after trials on coated and uncoated paper stock, both the client and ourselves, felt that Naturalis was the right choice.”
