James Daglish, Chief Executive at Tullis Russell Group, the Glenrothes-based paper and paper converting business, has recently retired.
Mr Daglish, who has served as Group Chief Executive since 1992, was succeeded by Fred Bowden, formerly Managing Director of Tullis Russell Papermakers Limited, the Group’s principal manufacturing business. Mr Bowden has extensive experience in the paper industry, having worked in a variety of senior roles both in the UK and overseas.
Mr Daglish said, “Tullis Russell Group has undergone some tremendous changes for the better since the successful employee buyout from the Russell family in 1994. I’m proud of what the management team has achieved in developing the business, despite difficult global trading conditions and the strength of sterling. I believe, however, that this is now an appropriate time to hand over leadership of the Group”.
“In James Daglish the Group has enjoyed the services of a distinguished Chief Executive whose leadership will be sorely missed. We wish him a long and enjoyable retirement”, said Tullis Russell Chairman, Dr Howard Browning.
The role of Managing Director at Tullis Russell Papermakers has been filled by Don Munro, formerly Deputy Managing Director. Mr Munro has worked for Tullis Russell for eight years, initially as Sales & Marketing Director and has lengthy experience of the paper and printing industry.
